Andrea Barzagli was one of the best defenders in the world when he played for Juventus, and he is now an assistant coach in the Italy U21 national team. The former defender is working his way into the management space, and in the next few seasons, he could be on the bench of one of the Italian clubs.
Juve is used to seeing their former players become coaches, and they would love to have one of them back and successful on their team in the future. Barzagli is taking his time and learning the ropes with the U21 team of Italy, and he is already showing promising signs that he will be a top manager, according to his boss and the man he works under in the team.
Barzagli’s Transition to Coaching
---------------------------------
Silvio Baldini has been praised for the fine job he is doing there, and he has the likes of Barzagli to thank, as they work hard with him to help the team. He said via [Football Italia](https://football-italia.net/be-great-coach-praise-juventus-italy-barzagli/):
“A surprise. I never would have thought that someone with his pedigree as a player would be so humble. It’s as if he had always played at the amateur level and were eager to learn the trade.
“He has my complete respect; in fact, during technical meetings, he’s the one who gives the explanations, not me. He’s truly talented, and if he finds a good sporting director, he’ll have a great career as a coach too.”
