Ipswich Town boss Gary O'Neil said his side were denied a penalty in their dramatic 2-1 win over Fulham in the Premier League yesterday.

With Town 1-0 down and 15 minutes left, Daizen Maeda powered past Fulham defender Ryan Sessegnon and surged into the box, before tumbling to the turf.

Replays showed that the Fulham man clipped Maeda's heels, but no penalty was given, with a quick VAR review backing up that on-pitch call.

Asked afterwards if Town should have had a spot kick, O'Neil said: "Maybe, yeah. To be honest, I'm only going off what people have told me.

"I haven't watched it. But I hear there is contact and I know Daizen very, very well. So I'd be very surprised if Daizen turned down that attacking moment to fall on the floor for no reason.

"But I guess once the ref hasn't given it, it then needs to be obvious for VAR to overturn.

"So I guess once the ref hasn't given it, then the chances of it being overturned obviously diminish.

"But no, I'm told it should have been, but I hope thankfully it means nothing.

"So we take the three points, we move forward."

What do you think? Penalty or not?
