Real Madrid star sends apology to teammates

Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has taken to social media, to send a message of apology the way of the rest of José Mourinho’s squad.

This of course comes after the Brazilian was at the heart of another incident to forget during Los Blancos’ victory over Villarreal on Saturday evening.

En route to an eventual 1-0 triumph for Real Madrid, Vinícius appeared to have put the game to bed upon slotting home from close range 20 minutes from time.

An ensuing VAR check, however, showcased the fact that the 26-year-old had intentionally pulled the hair of Villarreal’s Nathan Saliba in the buildup to the goal.

The hosts’ 2nd was therefore overturned, with Vinícius shown a straight red card for his actions.

The winger, at the time, appeared nothing short of livid with the decision, but with the dust having since settled on Real’s victory, Vinícius has moved to apologise for his latest outburst.

In a post on his official social media platforms, the South American wrote:

‘I am still happy… I want to apologize to my teammates and Real Madrid fans.’
