Nick Woltemade made a late move to Juventus in the last transfer window as the Bianconeri failed to sign Joshua Zirkzee, who was the exact player that Luciano Spalletti wanted the club to sign. Juve considered him one of the best attackers in the game, and they tried to get the Dutchman to the Allianz Stadium; however, the team could not add him to their squad.
They had to settle for Woltemade, who flopped in his only season in England so far and is not much different from Randal Kolo Muani, but Juve is confident he will do well and prove his doubters wrong. The Bianconeri manager is tasked with getting the best from the attacker as he competes for their team in this window, but he will be on the lookout for some specific needs that the German can fill in Turin.
Woltemade’s Role and Spalletti’s Vision
Calciomercato says Juve sold him to their manager before a deal was struck by showing him that he can hold up the ball and draw players to himself, while allowing the winger and the midfielders to attack the space in the opposition defence. So far, he needs to do more on the pitch, but that is what Juve expects from the attacker, and that is why Spalletti agreed to allow him to join them.
The German’s ability to hold up play and create space for others is central to Juventus’s tactical plans, and Spalletti sees him as a key piece in the system. His physical presence and link-up play are assets, and the club expects him to adapt quickly. The pressure is on him to deliver, but the manager’s faith suggests he has the tools to succeed.

Expectations and Challenges Ahead
Woltemade’s previous struggles in England are a concern, but Juventus believes a fresh start in Serie A could unlock his potential. The club’s scouting and recruitment team are confident in their assessment, and the manager’s backing is a positive sign. His integration into the squad will be watched closely.
Supporters will hope he can justify the faith shown in him, and his performances in the coming weeks will be telling. The competition for places is fierce, but Woltemade’s unique skill set gives him a chance to carve out a role. His journey at Juventus is just beginning, and the expectations are clear.
