Barcelona and Real Madrid are preparing to go head‑to‑head in the winter transfer window for Tottenham’s World Cup winner Pedro Porro.
Pedro Porro has long attracted interest from clubs in Spain, with speculation resurfacing during the just-concluded summer transfer window.
At the time, Real Madrid were reported to be keen on securing the full-back’s signature, but no move materialised, and instead Porro signed a new deal with Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite that, reports linking the Spurs full-back with a departure from north London continue to emerge from the Spanish media.

Pedro Porro open to Spain return as Tottenham future questioned
The latest update comes from Cadena SER, where journalist Nil Sola discussed Porro’s situation. According to the journalist, Porro is open to leaving Tottenham, which has alerted both Barcelona and Real Madrid.
He explained: “He renewed and, although it is true there are no release clauses in England, getting him out of Tottenham will be difficult.
“However, he wants to return to Spain, so Barça and Real Madrid have already sounded him out.”
Signing Porro would not be straightforward, given he recently signed a new contract that keeps him in north London until 2031.
Any club interested in the full-back would need to negotiate hard with Tottenham before a move could be sanctioned.
Barcelona and Madrid monitoring Porro despite new deal
The report further suggests that Barcelona could attempt a move for Porro as early as the winter transfer window, though much will depend on player departures – with Jules Kounde among those who could be sold.
Chelsea, Spurs’ rivals, are keen on Kounde, and if they secure the Frenchman’s signature, it could pave the way for Barcelona to pursue Porro.
However, Hansi Flick’s side may face competition, as Real Madrid are also monitoring the situation and remain open to making a move for the Tottenham defender should the opportunity arise.
If Porro were to leave in the winter, Spurs would be left short at right‑back, with the 28‑year‑old currently the club’s only recognised full‑back. Archie Gray is the back‑up option, though his preferred role is in midfield. Tottenham have nonetheless been linked with reinforcements, including Neco Williams and Aramburu.
