Luciano Spalletti believes Juventus [delivered a good performance against Cagliari in Serie A despite failing to secure victory](https://talkjuve.com/2026/10/12/juventus-play-out-a-respectable1-1-draw-with-cagliari/). The manager wants his players to maintain that standard while improving their finishing to ensure they turn strong displays into wins.
Juventus entered the match after the international break hoping to continue the positive results they had recorded before the pause. However, they faced a Cagliari side that had made an impressive start to the league campaign and were determined to continue their progress.
Spalletti pleased with Juventus performance
-------------------------------------------
Cagliari had won four of their opening five league matches before facing Juventus, achieving a start they had not managed before. Their form made the fixture a difficult challenge for Spalletti’s men, who needed to perform well to collect all three points.
Juventus tried to impose themselves on the contest, but they struggled to find a breakthrough for much of the match. Although they improved considerably towards the end, their efforts were not enough to secure victory.
Despite the disappointment of dropping points, Spalletti was encouraged by the performance, particularly the determination his players showed during the closing stages. He believes Juventus can win plenty of matches if they continue playing at that level, provided they become more clinical in front of goal.
Juventus must improve their finishing
-------------------------------------
Speaking to the [Juventus official website](https://www.juventus.com/en/news/articles/press-room-comments-after-cagliari-juventus-11-10-26), Spalletti said:
“We need to have the right determination. It was a great performance but the result wasn’t there. If we play like this, I’m convinced we’ll win plenty of games, though it’s true that we need to improve our finishing. I’m a bit annoyed because these are the sort of matches we need to win. The team has real potential.”
His comments reflect the frustration of failing to win a match in which Juventus believed they had done enough to secure a better result. The manager recognises that his team possesses considerable potential, but he also understands the importance of converting opportunities into goals.
Juventus will now look to build on the encouraging aspects of their performance while addressing their shortcomings in front of goal. Spalletti wants his players to show the same determination in upcoming fixtures and believes that consistent performances will eventually produce more victories.
