Pierre Kalulu was left disappointed by Juventus’ 1-1 draw against Cagliari as the Bianconeri failed to secure victory in their first match after the international break. Despite pushing hard for a winner late in the game, they had to settle for a point.

Cagliari entered the fixture in impressive form, having won four of their first five league matches. Juventus knew they faced a difficult challenge, but they were still confident of collecting all three points and continuing their progress in Serie A.

Juventus frustrated by Cagliari

The Bianconeri struggled to impose themselves early in the match and fell behind, leaving them with a difficult task against Cagliari’s organised defence. Although Juventus enjoyed possession, they found it hard to create clear opportunities and break down their opponents.

Cagliari remained disciplined as Juventus searched for an equaliser, making life difficult for the visiting side. The home side defended resolutely and looked capable of holding on to their advantage as the match entered its closing stages.

Juventus eventually found a breakthrough through Randal Kolo Muani in the 81st minute. The equaliser gave them renewed hope of claiming victory, and they created further opportunities to score a late winner. However, their finishing let them down, and they could not find another goal.

Kalulu reacts to the disappointing draw

Kalulu was unhappy that Juventus had failed to turn their late pressure into a victory, believing the team had worked hard enough to collect all three points. He was pleased that Kolo Muani had found the net, but also recognised that the forward had another opportunity to score.

Speaking after the match, Kalulu said, via Tuttojuve:

“These are two points lost, we tried so hard and didn’t win. I’m not happy about the match, but I’m happy about Kolo Muani’s goal. He could have made another one too.”

For Kalulu and his teammates, the focus will now be on improving their finishing and ensuring that similar performances produce better results. Juventus showed determination in their attempt to recover, but they will know that they must be more clinical when opportunities arise.
