David Moyes is reportedly emerging as a potential candidate to become Celtic manager next summer.
The experienced Scot is approaching the end of his contract at Everton, with his current deal due to expire at the conclusion of the season.
There has been no indication of an extension being agreed at this stage, creating uncertainty over whether the 63-year-old will remain at Hill Dickinson Stadium beyond the summer.

According to Alan Nixon, Celtic are keeping an eye on Moyes’ situation as they consider their longer-term managerial plans.
There is no suggestion that Celtic have made a formal approach, and the report should be treated as early interest rather than evidence of an agreement being close.
However, the situation at Everton could make Moyes an attainable option.

The Friedkin Group is exploring a potential sale of Everton, with the owners reportedly open to fresh investment or relinquishing control entirely.
That uncertainty could leave Moyes’ future further down the list of priorities. Any prospective new owner may also want to appoint their own manager.
Moyes returned to Everton in January 2025 on a two-and-a-half-year contract, but the lack of movement over an extension has inevitably encouraged speculation.
Celtic will also have a decision to make over Martin O’Neill.
The veteran manager signed a one-year contract with the option of a further season after leading the Hoops to a dramatic league and Scottish Cup double.
O’Neill recently confirmed that he intends to remain in charge and challenge for another title after briefly reflecting on his position during the international break.
Whether Celtic activate the additional year in his deal could depend heavily on how the remainder of the campaign unfolds.
Moyes has been linked with the Celtic job several times throughout his career. The Glasgow-born manager began his professional playing career at Parkhead and has never hidden his connection to the club.
Celtic have a manager attempting to defend the Premiership title, while Everton’s ownership and Moyes’ contractual position could both change before the summer. Nevertheless, his expiring deal means his name is likely to remain prominent whenever Celtic’s succession plans are discussed.
