Coventry City 4-1 Newcastle United: Matthias Jaissle has reacted to Monday night’s defeat at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Newcastle United made it successive 4-1 Premier League away defeats on Monday evening as Coventry City picked up their first home win of the season.
Jack Rudoni gave the hosts the lead from the penalty spot before Sidiki Cherif doubled the lead early in the second half. Sven Botman pulled a goal back with a stunning strike from distance but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation as Ellis Simms and Stephen Mfuni scored late on for Coventry to secure a comfortable win.
Ahead of the match, Coventry had failed to pick up any points or score any goals at the CBS Arena since being promoted back to the Premier League. Newcastle also went into the game knowing a win would take them up to fourth in the table.

“That's hard,” Jaissle told BBC Sport. “That's punishment in this league. We controlled many phases but it's not enough.
"In the boxes the games are decided. In both boxes we were not clean. It's something we need to learn fast.

"The momentum was there. We have a young squad but that shouldn't be an excuse. It was a tough game in general.
"The injured players are hopefully getting more game minutes. Today if you see the whole picture it was not the worst game. I apologise to fans because they deserved a different result."
