The Premier League’s 17 best foreign players ranked - full list

England's top flight is blessed by some many of the world's best players so picking the best is not a simple task.

Martin Odegaard

Arsenal FC v Coventry City - Premier League 2026/27

The Premier League is spoilt for top foreign talent.

From Thierry Henry and Christiano Ronaldo to Sergio Aguero and Mohamed Salah, we're so fortunate to have seen so many legendary foreign players in the Premier League over the years. Our top flight is widely regarded as the best league in the world, meaning its leading clubs have little difficulty attracting the globe's top talent. However, the abundance of talent makes ranking the best foreign players in the league a challenging task.

Such is the wealth of foreign talent, Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler named a starting XI for their Premier League match against Sunderland on Saturday (October 10) that did not feature any English starters. This marked only the fifth time in Premier League history that a team started without a single English player.

17. Joao Pedro

Chelsea v Leeds United - Premier League

In 17th spot is Chelsea's forward Joao Pedro. The Brazilian moved to Stamford Bridge from Brighton for £60m in July 2025, and has scored five goals in five games for the Blues so far this season.

16. Pascal Groß

Sunderland v Brighton & Hove Albion - Premier League 2026/27

Arguably Brighton's best ever player, Pascal Groß deserves a special mention in this list. The German midfielder has played a key part of the Seagulls' early season success.

15. Jérémy Doku

Manchester City v Southampton - Emirates FA Cup Semi Final

Jérémy Doku pace and dribbling make him one of the most exciting players to watch in the Premier League. The Belgian winger has become a key part of Manchester City's side and recently scored against Liverpool.

14. Antoine Semenyo

Manchester City v Aston Villa - Premier League

Next up is Doku's Man City teammate, Antoine Semenyo, who was signed from Bournemouth for £65m in January. The Ghanaian, who was born in London, has famously taken a hard-fought path through the non-league system to reach the summit of the English game.
