Thomas Frank is a leading contender to take charge at Fulham if they sack Alvaro Arbeloa, talkSPORT understands.

Arbeloa faces a crunch clash at home to newly-promoted Hull on Saturday having failed to win any of his first six games in charge.

The Cottagers then travel to Coventry, and sources close to the Cottagers believe those two games will have a major impact on Arbeloa’s future.

The Spaniard rounded on his critics following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Ipswich, swatting away suggestions he was feeling the pressure.

There are believed to be tensions behind the scenes between the former Real Madrid boss and some senior players.

Frank has been out of work since being fired by Tottenham in February and would command a big salary.

Other potential options include ex-Ipswich chief Kieran McKenna, who was high on Fulham’s shortlist before they opted for Arbeloa.

PSG eyeing up Yoro

Scouts from the back-to-back European champions watched Yoro, 20, make his France debut in the 4-1 Nations League win over Belgium earlier this month.

While United see Yoro as a key part of their long-term future, there is a feeling across the Channel that a big offer could test their resolve.

Yoro has played 55 Premier League games since moving to Old Trafford from Lille in a deal worth £60million in the summer of 2024.

At the time, he was being chased by teams including Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Eckert in line for new Saints deal

Southampton plan to sit down with boss Tonda Eckert over a new contract following his reprieve from a touchline ban.

Eckert’s current deal expires next summer and talks over an extension were on hold as the German awaited his punishment in the wake of the ‘Spygate’ scandal.

As previously reported, sources on the south coast feared a lengthy suspension but Eckert escaped with only a six-week ban suspended until the end of the season.

Saints owner Dragan Solak stuck by his 33-year-old gaffer after Saints were thrown out of the Championship play-off final.

Solak wants to tie Eckert down to a long-term deal to fend off interest from rival clubs.
