Everton's Harrison Armstrong
Harrison Armstrong says the support of Everton fans has meant “the world” to him and his family, strengthening his belief that his future belongs with the Blues.
The Academy graduate spoke to evertontv after playing 78 minutes in Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Hull City, where Everton recovered from a goal down, before letting the lead slip to earn a point.
For Armstrong, the backing he has received away from the pitch has been just as significant. Summer transfer speculation linked the teenage midfielder with a potential departure, prompting supporters to rally behind him.
Reflecting on that response, Armstrong made clear how much it had affected him.
“The [support] has meant the world to me and my family,” he said.
“I understand it’s part of the game and you’re going to have to experience moments like that, but for a fanbase to get involved and show as much support as they did, is special.”
Armstrong said the reaction had helped him feel loved and given him confidence during a period of uncertainty.
“I don’t think I’ve seen that before,” he added.
“And it’s cemented that this is the place to be for me.”
His comments underline the connection between the young midfielder and the supporters who want to see him succeed at Everton. For an Academy graduate making his way in senior football, that encouragement carries considerable weight.
After the possible exit, Armstrong’s own message was clear: the fans’ backing has reinforced his sense of belonging at the Club.
