Despite Spurs’ struggles in front of goal in the Premier League this season, Tottenham’s attackers continue to shine with their dribbling ability.

Tottenham Hotspur’s attack is yet to hit the ground running, given their struggles in front of goal this season, having only managed three goals in six games.

That run leaves the Lilywhites as the second-worst team in terms of goals scored so far in the Premier League, with only newly promoted Coventry worse off.

However, Tottenham’s output does not tell the full story of their performances in the league, and further statistics now show that Roberto De Zerbi’s men are among the best in the Premier League in terms of offensive play.

Tottenham attackers dominate dribble statistics

According to WhoScored, four Spurs players occupy the top four spots for most successful dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League among those who have played at least 110 minutes.

Mohammed Kudus, Savio, Mathys Tel and Omar Marmoush lead the way, with Kudus completing 5.7 dribbles per 90, Savio 4.9, Tel 3.5 and Marmoush 3.2.

While these are impressive statistics, many fans would rather see the players at the top end of the pitch putting the ball in the back of the net.

De Zerbi himself has acknowledged how dangerous his players are when it comes to creating chances, with their ability to beat opponents playing a key role. Speaking ahead of the United game, the Tottenham boss said:

“No, no. I think we created chance enough to score many other goals in these seven games.

“I think even this improvement, I think we had the qualities to score more goals. Anyway, the most important thing is to bring the ball in the goal area. In the goal area we went many, many times.

“We are fourth in the table, of the teams who bring the ball many times (into the final third). So it is nothing, but I think we arrived there, but we are not good enough so far to score goals when we have a clear chance.”

Savio and Marmoush among top take-on players

Squawka further backs up WhoScored’s report, revealing that Savio has completed 18 take-ons this season.

Marmoush comes in second with 13 successful take-ons in the Premier League, while Kudus ranks third with 12 – the same number as Abdul Fatawu, Noah Okafor and Morgan Rogers.

Sávio has completed more take-ons than any other player in the Premier League this season.

Against Manchester United, Tottenham’s wingers once again showcased their dribbling ability, with Savio standing out as the most impressive of the pair.

The Brazilian was head and shoulders above the other wide players on the pitch, including Mohammed Kudus, Mbeumo and Cunha, completing five successful dribbles and recording the most touches in the box with 10, underlining his influence in the final third.
