Town’s U21s came from behind to win 2-1 at Worthing, their first victory in the National League Cup.
The home side went in front in the sixth minute through Emmerson Sutton, but Shakil Nicolaou levelled for John McGreal’s side two minutes before half-time.
And Luca Fletcher (pictured) won it on the hour with a shot in to the top corner having won the ball back himself.
The Blues fielded George Barrett in goal, the former Walsall man having returned after his loan spell at Braintree Town, which was set to run to January, had been cut short.
The result moves Town up to third in their National League Cup group.
U21s: Barrett, Mthunzi, Wilkinson, Mazionis (c), Shabazz-Edwards, Doherty, Nicolaou, Compton, Mauge, Runham (Pitts 70), Fletcher (Lewis 84). Unused: Elliott, Eze, Pedder, Eldred, Noonan.
