Jack Hinshelwood was in the thick of training ahead of European night.

But how many changes will Fabian Hurzeler make to his XI against Kauno Zalgiris?

Hinshelwood has recovered from an early-season ankle injury but was not part of the 20-man matchday squad for the 2-0 win at Sunderland.

The midfielder’s injury struck in training the day before Albion’s previous home European date, when they beat Tromso 4-0.

He looked to be taking a full part in Tuesday’s session as he battled it out with tough-tackling colleague Chema Andres.

Zadok Yohanna, who has been absent from matchday squads in recent weeks, was also seen in the session.

Albion could change their entire starting XI as they face the Lithuanian league leaders.

Ironically, their biggest setback in the Sunderland game could ensure at least one player keeps his place.

Pascal Struijk was sent off just before the hour mark and will be suspended for the Premier League game with Crystal Palace on Sunday.

That could mean it makes perfect sense for him to start against Kauno Zalgiris.

Georginio Rutter has impressed in training recently as well as in his brief chances in games.

It would be no surprise if he were to start the game while full-backs Costinha and Jaouen Hadjam are also strong contenders for the XI and Michal Svoboda should have a part to play in the next two games.

Jason Steele would seem to stand a good chance of playing in goal but it will be interesting to see how many of midfield trio Yasin Ayari, Pascal Gross and Chema are rested.

Then we wait to see whether this is an opportunity to give Promise David the stage he craves.

Younes Ibrahim was involved in the Tuesday session, even though the under-21s were in EFL Trophy action in the evening.

More might become clear on Wednesday afternoon when Fabian Hurzeler speaks to the media.

The head coach hosts his press conference from 1.30pm and The Argus will report both from there and from open training in the morning.
