Manchester United are a club in turmoil as they prepare to head to Leeds United this Sunday. The Red Devils have suffered their worst start to a season for 40 years and last night's 2-0 Champions League defeat at Atletico Madrid has only further increased the pressure on manager Michael Carrick, while adding to the feeling of unrest surrounding the club.
That feeling of unrest has now seeped its way into the dressing room with some players making their feelings of unhappiness at the situation known to the wider public.
Following the defeat in Madrid, Lisandro Martinez ripped into the club's technical director Jason Wilcox with a scathing review of the club's summer transfer business, while team-mate Amad didn't mine his words either in a social media post after the game.
It's a situation which has left the club in a difficult place before they make the journey to what will be a fevered Elland Road on Sunday, with Daniel Farke's men eager to capitalise on the anger and frustration at Manchester United by picking up a victory that will take them six points clear of their rivals and potentially move them into a Champions League spot.
While a Champions League defeat was bad enough, the criticism from two of the players in the immediate aftermath has put even more focus on the situation at the club.
Martinez vented his fury in a post-match interview. He said: "I have to control myself a lot. But sometimes it's a reflection of how our club is at the moment, you know?"
"We (had) a fantastic season last season, and now we expect more from the top, from above, you know, to bring more players to compete, because many, many teams bring many players in as well, and today also, Atletico have an amazing team, and they deserved to win today."
Martinez reiterated: "I expected more, honestly. I expected more." He then focused on director of football Jason Wilcox.
"I expected more from our technical director," Martinez said of Wilcox. "I have to be honest, you know? And also, as players, we have to do more, but it's also important when you make a strong squad to be ready for these kinds of nights."
The player explained: "In general. I think last season we did everything; we created a base to build an amazing team. But this is something to be honest and to prove something, you know?
"Yeah, it's annoying, disappointing, to come here and not see my team trying to get an amazing result here. It's disappointing."
The Argentine defender's stinging criticism was soon followed by team-mate Amad, who dubbed Manchester United 's loss to Atletico Madrid a "f***ing disgrace", adding "I have no words" as a poor run of form continued.
These comments make up the caption of a post on his Snapchat account, which is verified as a Snap Star, denoted by the star next to the name on their profile. Amad, 24, started the match in Madrid among the substitutes and was introduced midway through the second half to replace Marcus Rashford.
