The 1878s to resume Everton flag displays

**Flags will return to Everton home games after several weeks’ absence.**

The 1878s confirmed that it had [pulled pre-match displays at Hill Dickinson Stadium ‘for the foreseeable future’](https://www.clickliverpool.com/sport/everton-fc/67871-everton-fans-stand-down-displays-after-transfer-farce/) following a chaotic end to the summer transfer window.

David Moyes’ side was left with just 18 outfield players, including one recognised striker, after the Blues’ failure to strengthen their ranks despite numerous sales.

But owners The Friedkin Group’s recent decision to put the club up for sale has led to a rethink from the group, who will resume their previous duties later this month.

“Before our Carabao Cup game v Newcastle United we will be doing a flag display,” confirmed a statement from The 1878s.

“We are pleased that the owners are wanting to sell the club, which will hopefully allow us to progress on the pitch & match our fans ambitions in the future with more investment from new owners.

“With the pending sale of our club, being united as fans along with our players and management is massively important to help the team in these uncertain times.

“It’s been far too long since our club won silverware and as time goes on each cup game feels even more important.

“We would love to help push the lads a step closer and into, potentially our first cup quarter final at our new home.

“Let’s bring our voices from the off & make it a loud one under the lights.”
