Luciano Spalletti has been handed a one match touchline ban after clashing with Cagliari manager Fabio Pisacane during the closing stages of their game at the weekend.

Explaining the reason for Spalletti’s punishment, Calciomercato reported:
“For having, at the end of the match, taken a provocative attitude towards the opposing team’s coach which created a moment of tension between the members of the two benches.”
The explanation indicates that Spalletti’s conduct towards Pisacane was central to the disciplinary decision. Both managers have received the same suspension, underlining the seriousness with which the incident was treated.
Juventus must now prepare for their next fixture without Spalletti directing proceedings from the touchline. Following a difficult match against Cagliari, the club will be keen to move on from the controversy and refocus on their performances.
