Vasilije Adzic is spending this season on loan at Sassuolo from Juventus, and he has impressed so far, leaving the Bianconeri to consider whether they should have kept him.
Juventus regard Adzic as a major talent, but opportunities for regular first-team football have been limited, explaining why they allowed him to leave on loan. The move has given him a chance to gain experience and demonstrate his qualities elsewhere.
Adzic impresses at Sassuolo
Sassuolo have an option to make the midfielder’s move permanent at the end of the season, but reports suggest Juventus intend to activate the buy-back clause included in the agreement. This indicates the Turin club may still see him as part of their plans.
Adzic has become one of Sassuolo’s standout players, despite struggling for consistency at Juventus and failing to establish himself at the Allianz Stadium. His performances away from the club have raised questions about why he has looked more effective elsewhere.
The difference may lie in the environment and coaching he has received at Sassuolo. The club’s sporting director has offered an explanation for the improvement.

Palmieri praises Aquilani’s influence
Speaking about Adzic’s progress, Sassuolo sporting director Francesco Palmieri credited head coach Alberto Aquilani with helping players fulfil their potential. According to Tuttomercatoweb, Palmieri said:
“Great credit goes to (Alberto) Aquilani: when he sees the players, he conveys something different. Adzic is a talent, in my opinion he is a player of great perspective. Alberto, then, is the perfect coach to bring out the best in these guys, young and old”.
The comments suggest Aquilani’s approach has played an important role in Adzic’s performances. Palmieri believes the coach has created an environment in which players can improve, regardless of age or experience.
For Juventus, Adzic’s progress will be encouraging, even if it raises questions about whether he could have contributed this season. Sassuolo retain the option to sign him permanently, but the reported buy-back clause could allow Juventus to bring him back to Turin.
