**The noise surrounding Manchester United after their poor start to the season has just been ramped up even further ahead of their trip to Elland Road to take on [Leeds United](https://www.leedsallover.com/tag/leeds-united/).**
Following their 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid last night, [Lisandro Martinez effectively threw a hand grenade into his own dressing room at full-time](https://www.leedsallover.com/not-needed-leeds-united-handed-major-boost-as-bombshell-dropped-in-man-utd-dressing-room/). The defender criticised the club’s board and his own teammates.
Leeds supporters will be rubbing their hands with all of this commotion surrounding their bitter rivals ahead of our game against them on Sunday.
Now, Simon Jordan has offered a brutal warning to Man United ahead of their game against the Whites.
Unsurprisingly, Jordan did not approve of Martinez’s comments following the Atletico game last night.
Jordan found it amusing that Martinez, of all players, was the one to come out and criticise his teammates. He was the one who was at fault for Dominic Solanke’s 92nd-minute equaliser for Spurs against them over the weekend.
Jordan also felt that Martinez’s interview piled the pressure on Michael Carrick even further ahead of their trip to Elland Road.
“It’s put the pressure on Carrick,” Jordan said on talkSPORT.
“They’ve got Leeds United at the weekend. If they turn up at Leeds United and think they can put half a performance in, Leeds will batter them.”
Danny Murphy was also on talkSPORT alongside Jordan. Murphy was asked whether he felt Martinez would start against Leeds at the weekend. The former Liverpool midfielder simply replied, “No chance.”
If we beat Man United at the weekend, and beat them convincingly, I think that will be the final nail in the coffin for Carrick as their manager.
If he doesn’t get sacked, I think he’ll walk regardless.
When we faced Man United at Elland Road last season, that ended up being Ruben Amorim’s last game as manager. The Portuguese coach also criticised his club’s hierarchy after the 1-1 draw.
If a second Man United manager lost their job at Elland Road in two seasons, that would be hilarious. I quite like the idea of our ground being a graveyard for their managers.
You’d imagine that if Martinez is available, Carrick would want to start him against us at the weekend.
But when considering what Martinez said last night after the Atletico game, Carrick’s hands are tied. Surely we won’t see the Argentinian in action at Elland Road. You’d imagine Man United’s hierarchy won’t allow this after the player criticised them so publicly.
So the fact that Carrick’s team selection is potentially messed with as a result of external forces is yet another big advantage for us ahead of kick-off.
Elland Road was already going to be rocking on Sunday. However, now we’ve got a wounded animal in front of us; everyone associated with Leeds will recognise this is a golden opportunity to get one over on the team we all despise.
