Endrick scored and was named player of the match as Real Madrid produced a sensational recovery from 3-1 down to beat AS Roma in the Champions League. The Brazil international has been linked with a move to Manchester United, but he rose above the noise surrounding his Real future by scoring in his side’s seven-goal comeback thriller as he showed Jose Mourinho what an important player he could be.

Donyell Malen struck twice early in the second half to put Roma in control after Kylian Mbappe had cancelled out Marten de Roon’s opener for the Italian side before the interval. But substitutes Carlos Espi and Endrick scored to make it 3-3 before Antonio Rudiger converted a dramatic, close-range 90th-minute winner.

And even though he was only on the pitch for just over half an hour, Endrick was named player of the match by UEFA. A report from Spain emerged earlier this week claiming that United believe they can beat Ruben Amorim's AC Milan to sign the forward.

Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with a move for the Brazilian, who moved to Los Blancos from Palmeiras in 2024 when he signed a six-year deal and started brightly scoring on his debut that August. However, after a promising first season, he was loaned to Lyon in December for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign.

Endrick has only made two appearances so far this season following his recovery from an injury that affected him in the opening weeks of the campaign. But Alan Redmond, head of Football at RocNation, who represents Endrick, insists his client's future lies at the Bernabeu.

“The financial aspect isn’t important; the player evaluates the club’s project,” he said, via AdnKronos. “We’re talking about a player with the qualities to be at Real Madrid; he just needs opportunities.

“Endrick came from a loan spell at Lyon and played very well in France, then he had some problems, and I think it was also quite frustrating for him not to be at his best physically.

“However, the idea has always been to stay in Madrid. We’ll see what happens in the future, but honestly, I think he’ll stay at Real Madrid for a long time. That’s my opinion. I don’t think he’ll move. The clubs mentioned are fantastic, but I don’t think he’ll go play anywhere else.”

While Real boss Jose Mourinho is also adamant that he will not let Endrick leave.

“Forget about the interested clubs,” he told TNT Sports Brazil on Tuesday. “He is a player that I really like, a player that I think has lots of potential and is very important for us.

“Luckily for us — it was bad luck for him — he was about to come on against Villarreal, and then we scored. He and Bernardo were going to come on at the exact moment that we scored, but with us ahead and then going down to 10 men, a coach has to think outside the box and come up with different solutions.

“Whoever is interested in him is going to have to fight very hard with me, because I don’t believe that he needs to go out on loan and that he will be a huge success here.”
