Beaten by an absolute screamer that he had no chance with and that was about the extent of his involvement in the game.
Barely anything to do defensively and didn’t really do much going forward either, other than taking some set pieces from out wide. Got booked for sarcastically clapping the referee for what was a genuine foul (for a change).
Most of his game was progressing the ball up the pitch with his passing, very little to do going the other way.
Same as O’Nien, spent the game passing the ball forwards. Although had quite an eventful game around the opposition box, taking a free kick that went over, flicking a shot just past the post and then missing a sitter at the back post after the ball failed to bounce properly off the pitch.
Made a really good defensive contribution immediately following the second half kick off, winning the ball in the box after O’Nien got turned. Otherwise a very quiet game.
Covered the back four really well when they needed it, although got beaten just before the opening goal. Passed the ball well throughout though and was freed up to attack following Xhaka’s introduction and made the most of it.
Was also freed up after Xhaka came on and looked all the better for it, got on the ball more around the box and made some driving runs down the channels. Finally got his first goal for the club with a really well taken strike in injury time.
Didn’t look particularly comfortable down the right but did have a couple of chances with his head, with one going wide and the other forcing a really good save.
Had a steady performance in the number 10 spot, working hard to make himself an option and linking up play.
Put a nice cross onto Angulo’s head in the second half after beating his man, which was something he was reluctant to do throughout the game. Still in the mindset of wanting to pass backwards too often.
Worked hard out of possession and was unlucky to see his first half header ruled out for a supposed foul elsewhere in the box. Then had a VAR check rule out a penalty he won.
Changed the game when he came on, finding plenty of room outside the box to whip in dangerous crosses. Then set up Sadiki for the winner late on.
Linked up play better down the left, with Sadiki in particular benefitting from Le Fee’s passes.
Came on for Methalie and was a bit more aggressive on and off the ball than the man he replaced.
A typical Nordi performance, got stuck in off the ball and always making something happen on it. A lovely move and cross for the equaliser and won the ball on the half way line, burst forward but sent his shot just wide shortly afterwards.
The substitutes turned the game on it’s head but my man of the match is Ahoka after another assured, mature performance from the young midfielder. Is often in the right place defensively when we’re out of possession but showed he’s a danger in the opposition box once Xhaka came on, scoring the equaliser with a lovely header and then almost winning it himself later when he got on the end of another deep cross.
