Juventus turned to Nick Woltemade after failing to sign Joshua Zirkzee from Manchester United during the last transfer window. The German striker emerged as an alternative to the former Bologna forward, and he has made a positive impression since arriving at the club.

Woltemade has improved with each performance as he looks to establish himself at Juventus. His display against Celta Vigo was arguably his strongest so far, offering encouragement to a team seeking greater consistency in attack.

Although he has struggled to make the same impact in Serie A, his European performances have been more impressive, with two goals in two matches. Juventus also appear to benefit when he plays alongside Randal Kolo Muani, although their current striker availability limits how often they can start together.

Woltemade makes his case at Juventus

The German forward is keen to prove that he belongs at a club with Juventus’ ambitions. His recent European performances suggest he is becoming increasingly comfortable, while his partnership with Kolo Muani offers the manager another attacking option.

Both forwards are currently the only fit strikers available to Juventus, meaning the club must manage their involvement carefully. Starting them together is not always possible, but their combination has shown promise when they share the pitch.

Woltemade’s development will be important as Juventus look to improve their attacking output across domestic and European competitions. Continued progress could help him secure a more established role in the team.

Condò identifies similarities with Zirkzee

Although Juventus initially pursued Zirkzee, Woltemade has given the club reasons to feel encouraged about the alternative they secured. Italian journalist Paolo Condò has also drawn comparisons between the two forwards, pointing to similarities in their playing styles.

Speaking via Tuttomercatoweb, Condò said: “There is still a bit of mystery about what kind of player he is. Not with the same quality, but as a type of player I saw Zirkzee.”

His assessment suggests that Woltemade shares certain characteristics with the Dutchman, even if their overall quality differs. Juventus will hope the German continues to develop and becomes an increasingly influential figure in their attack.
