Nick Woltemade has shown encouraging form for Juventus in European competition over recent weeks as he continues to adapt to life at the club. However, questions remain about how best to use the German forward and where he fits into the team’s tactical plans.

The Bianconeri have received some strong performances from Woltemade in continental football, and he has emerged as one of their notable performers. Nevertheless, he has yet to reproduce that level consistently in the league and has occasionally struggled to find his place even in European matches.

Juventus continue to back Woltemade

Scoring goals can give a striker the confidence needed to improve, and Woltemade’s recent progress is encouraging. His goal against Celta could prove important as he continues to settle into his role and gain confidence throughout the season.

Juventus regard him as one of the best players in their squad and believe he will eventually meet expectations. The club remain willing to back him as he develops, hoping his performances will become more consistent across competitions.

However, his qualities have not yet translated into a clearly defined role within the team. While his physical attributes allow him to operate as a striker, his style of play suggests that he may be more suited to a different position or tactical arrangement.

Zanini questions his ideal position

Nicola Zanini has also acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding Woltemade’s role, suggesting Juventus must work out how to get the best from him. Speaking via Tuttojuve, he said:

“It’s a question mark and I’m wondering that too. I saw the game and, at times, it seemed completely out of the game system. Then he got back into the game, but he’s a particular player, he’s not a pure striker, even if he has a physical structure that allows him to play that role. You have to understand well how it can be used. I agree with what you were saying before about the need to be ductile and change systems at certain points in the game. Woltemade is one of those players who can allow Juventus to do so, but he has yet to find his ideal place.”

Zanini’s assessment highlights the challenge facing Juventus. Woltemade offers tactical flexibility, but the team must identify the system that suits him best. Finding that balance could help the German become a more consistent performer as the campaign progresses.
