Kaio Jorge admits injuries ruined his career at Juventus

Kaio Jorge’s time at Juventus was far more difficult than he had imagined when he arrived from Santos in 2021. The Bianconeri moved quickly to secure his signature as a teenager, hijacking a proposed transfer to Benfica and bringing the highly rated Brazilian to Turin with hopes of developing his potential.

However, his time in Italy was severely disrupted by injuries, preventing him from making the impact expected of him. Despite remaining on Juventus’ books until 2024, the forward managed just nine league appearances for the club, leaving him with limited opportunities to demonstrate his abilities.

The most devastating setback came when a serious injury forced him to spend more than 500 days on the sidelines. It was a difficult period for the young attacker, whose development was interrupted just as he was trying to establish himself in European football.

Juventus supported the Brazilian throughout his recovery, but once he was fit again, the need for regular playing time became increasingly important. He eventually left Turin to join Cruzeiro, where he has continued his career and developed into one of the team’s most important players.

His performances in Brazil have helped put him back on the radar of clubs across Europe. Several leading sides are reportedly interested in signing the attacker, who is still only 24 and could have another opportunity to prove himself on the continent.

For Kaio Jorge, the prospect of returning to European football would represent a chance to show what he can achieve when free from the injury problems that hampered his Juventus spell. He also appears to have retained a strong emotional connection with Juve despite his limited involvement during his time there.

The striker believes injuries were the main reason he failed to establish himself in Turin. Speaking via [Football Italia](https://football-italia.net/kaio-jorge-without-injury-still-be-at-juventus/), he reflected on his lack of opportunities and explained how his efforts in training did not translate into the playing time he had hoped to receive.

“In five months at Juve I played less than I expected. I hoped to get at least 20 minutes a game, because I was always training at my best during the week and scoring in friendlies.

“The injury definitely affected my path in Turin.”

“I remain very attached to the club, which helped me through the difficult period of the injury and believed in me, allowing me to realise my dream of playing in Europe,” he added.

“Now I’d be ready to come back to Italy, maybe even to Juve. Today I’d do much better.”

His comments suggest that a return to Italy remains an appealing possibility. Having rebuilt his career at Cruzeiro, Kaio Jorge believes he could deliver a much stronger contribution if given another opportunity in Turin.
