Juventus are pleased with Jonathan David’s form at Atletico Madrid, but their satisfaction does not come from a desire to bring the Canadian striker back to their squad at the end of the season. Instead, the Bianconeri believe his improved performances could help them secure a permanent departure and potentially open the door to another transfer opportunity.
David joined Juventus as a free agent in 2025 after establishing himself as one of the best strikers at Lille. His performances in France attracted interest from several leading European clubs, with Juventus ultimately winning the race to secure his signature.
However, his first season in Turin did not go as planned. The striker struggled to make the desired impact, but he remained determined to stay and prove his worth during the current campaign. Juventus eventually decided that a loan move would be the best option for him.
David has found his feet in Madrid
Atletico Madrid showed the strongest interest in signing David on loan, giving him an opportunity to revive his career away from Juventus. The move has proved beneficial for the Canadian, who has been performing better since arriving in the Spanish capital.
The Bianconeri have done their best to support the striker, but his current form suggests that a fresh start has helped him rediscover his confidence. His performances in Madrid have also given Juventus reason to feel optimistic about the possibility of finding a permanent solution to his future.

Juventus expect a permanent transfer
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus expect Atletico Madrid to make David’s move permanent. The Bianconeri believe the Spanish club could decide to retain the striker if he maintains his current level of performance throughout the campaign.
However, Juventus are not relying entirely on Atletico Madrid to complete a deal. If the La Liga side decide against signing him permanently, Juve believe another suitor could emerge and offer David a new opportunity elsewhere.
For now, the striker’s priority should be to maintain the impressive form he has shown since moving to Madrid. Continued progress would strengthen his position and increase the likelihood of attracting interest from clubs willing to secure his services permanently.
