Teun Koopmeiners has yet to rediscover the consistency he showed at Atalanta, which convinced Juventus to bring him to Turin. Despite his struggles to make the expected impact, the Dutch midfielder insists that he is doing everything possible to help the team improve.
Koopmeiners established himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe during his time at La Dea. He played an important role in Atalanta’s success, helping the club win the Europa League in the summer of 2024. His performances attracted interest from several leading clubs across the continent, with Juventus eventually securing his signature after lengthy discussions with Atalanta.
The move was expected to strengthen Juventus’ midfield, but his time in Turin has not unfolded as planned. Despite the effort required to complete the transfer, Koopmeiners has struggled to reproduce the form that made him such an attractive signing.
Koopmeiners struggles to make an impact
His situation at Juventus has become increasingly difficult, with the midfielder now receiving limited playing time. When opportunities come his way, he has struggled to influence matches consistently or provide the contribution the team needs from him.
That has increased the pressure on the Dutchman, particularly as expectations remain high following his impressive performances before joining Juventus. Supporters had hoped he would become a key figure in midfield, but his performances have so far fallen short of those expectations.
Nevertheless, Koopmeiners maintains that he is working hard to contribute whenever he is selected. Although he recognises that there is room for improvement, he remains determined to support his teammates and continue working towards better performances.

Dutchman insists he is giving his best
With questions continuing over his contribution, Koopmeiners was asked whether he was satisfied with what he had delivered for Juventus. Tuttomercatoweb reported his response, in which he stressed his commitment to the team while acknowledging that he could do more.
“I’m giving 100% to help the team. I can do better, but I’ll continue to help the team. I have to look at how much positive I’ve achieved in these two years.”
Juventus will hope Koopmeiners can rediscover the qualities that made him such an influential player at Atalanta. For the Dutchman, the challenge is to turn his determination into performances that justify the club’s decision to sign him.
