Kerim Alajbegovic was expected to receive considerably more playing time following Kenan Yildiz’s injury, which is set to keep the attacker out of action until the end of 2026. However, things have not worked out as anticipated, with the youngster struggling to secure a regular place in Juventus’ plans despite the opportunity presented by Yildiz’s absence.
When Yildiz initially suffered the injury, Luciano Spalletti turned his attention towards Alajbegovic and handed the Bosnian starts in several matches. This appeared to offer the 19-year-old an opportunity to establish himself and demonstrate his potential while Juventus dealt with the loss of an important attacking option.
However, the situation has changed as Spalletti continues experimenting with different formations and tactical systems. Alajbegovic has consequently become one of the players affected by those adjustments, making it difficult for him to build momentum and maintain a consistent role within the team.
Alajbegovic continues to struggle for minutes
Although Alajbegovic has delivered encouraging performances, Spalletti does not appear to trust him fully. The Juventus manager seemingly believes the youngster is not yet at Yildiz’s level, leaving him with limited opportunities to demonstrate what he can contribute to the side.
According to Tuttojuve, Alajbegovic was introduced only during added time against Rennes, with the attacker featuring in midfield rather than in a more advanced position. The report suggests that Juventus are not providing him with enough opportunities to develop and establish himself at the club.
Spalletti’s preference for experienced players has further complicated the youngster’s situation. While the manager continues searching for the right tactical approach, Alajbegovic has struggled to secure the minutes needed to improve and become a more influential figure.

Juventus could unlock his attacking potential
Alajbegovic has demonstrated in recent performances that he possesses the qualities required to shine at a top club like Juventus. His displays suggest he could offer something valuable in attack, particularly as the Bianconeri continue seeking answers to their current problems in the final third.
Juventus appear determined to ease him into life at the club, but their cautious approach could restrict his progress. Greater trust and more consistent opportunities would allow Alajbegovic to show whether he can become a reliable contributor.
With Yildiz unavailable, giving the youngster a more prominent role could provide Juventus with another attacking solution. The club may need to reconsider its approach and offer him the responsibility required to fulfil his potential.
