Juventus have been dealing with a growing injury crisis, with several players missing their last few matches as the Bianconeri attempt to remain competitive across three competitions.

Captain Manuel Locatelli, Khephren Thuram and star forward Kenan Yildiz are among those sidelined, leaving Luciano Spalletti to work with the players available to him. The situation has placed additional pressure on the squad as the Old Lady continues to navigate a demanding schedule.

Juventus struggle with demanding schedule

Juventus have frequently been playing three times a week, making it difficult to maintain consistent performances while managing fatigue and injuries. Their recent results have reflected those challenges, with the team struggling to find the level of consistency expected of them.

They secured a victory over Lecce in their latest outing, but the performance was far from convincing. Juventus struggled to make an impact after the break, raising questions about whether they would have achieved the same result against stronger opposition.

The win was particularly important after they had gone two consecutive matches without a victory. However, the absence of several key players continues to limit Spalletti’s options, while the need to rest others for certain fixtures adds another complication to an already difficult situation.

Padovan assesses Juventus’ recent performance

Football pundit Giancarlo Padovan has been following Juventus’ progress and offered his assessment of their victory over Lecce, speaking via Tuttojuve.

“Juventus redeems itself, at least in part, by winning in Lecce. The position in the standings is always anonymous (seventh place, today it would be in the Conference League), but there has been an awakening. In the second half the team failed, both because they were missing nine players (at least five of whom were starters) and because they had played in the Europa League on Thursday.”

Padovan acknowledged the importance of the result but also highlighted the team’s shortcomings in the second half. The number of absentees and the demands of playing in Europe had clearly affected Juventus, offering some explanation for their difficulties.

Nevertheless, Juventus must find ways to collect points consistently if they are to improve their league position. With several important players unavailable, Spalletti faces the challenge of keeping his side competitive while managing the workload of those still fit.
