Juventus are interested in signing Kim Min-jae, who could be allowed to leave Bayern Munich, but the South Korean defender is attracting attention from several clubs. That interest could make it difficult for the Bianconeri to win the race for his signature.

The Bianconeri strengthened their defence in the summer, with Jhon Lucumi joining the club. However, defensive issues have remained a concern in recent weeks, and some of the goals Juventus have conceded have been poor. They are therefore considering another addition at the back, with Min-jae among the players they have admired for a long time.

Spalletti keen on reunion with Min-jae

Min-jae previously worked under Luciano Spalletti at Napoli, where they won the Serie A title together in 2023. Their past relationship is one reason the defender appeals to Juventus, with Spalletti keen to add a familiar player to his squad if an opportunity arises.

The defender’s experience of winning Serie A and competing in several other major competitions is also attractive to the Bianconeri. Juventus want to build a team capable of challenging for trophies, and Min-jae has already shown that he can perform at a high level. However, signing one defender would not, by itself, resolve all the problems the team have experienced.

Premier League clubs pose a challenge

According to Tuttojuve, Juventus are finding it difficult to advance their pursuit because several clubs in England are also interested. Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa are among the sides reportedly in the running for the South Korean.

Competition from the Premier League could complicate matters for Juve. The English sides mentioned are established teams, while clubs in that division generally have the financial capacity to offer high salaries. That can give them an advantage when competing with Serie A teams for some of the best players in Europe.

Juventus may see Min-jae as a defender who fits their plans and has a connection to Spalletti from their successful period at Napoli. Nevertheless, with multiple English clubs involved, the Bianconeri face a difficult task if they are to bring him to Turin.
