Ex-France manager among coaches to replace Spalletti

A great deal of attention has focused on the possibility of Antonio Conte returning to become Juventus’ next manager if the club decide to dismiss Luciano Spalletti, and that interest is understandable. Among the managers available to take charge immediately, Conte is one of the most accomplished, and he could raise the team to a new level.

However, Juventus are a top club and cannot afford to concentrate on a single candidate. There is therefore a real possibility that Conte may not become their next coach, even if Spalletti is dismissed.

Spalletti Under Pressure

It is important to remember that Spalletti still retains the backing of the club, but managers are often only as secure as their most recent result. A few more defeats could bring his time at Juventus to an end, particularly given the expectations that surround the club.

It has been difficult to see Juventus meeting expectations at the Allianz Stadium under Spalletti, and the pressure on him is likely to increase if results do not improve quickly. The board must therefore consider alternative options should they decide that a change is necessary.

Deschamps Emerges as an Option

As reported by Sport Mediaset, one manager Juventus could name on their bench is Didier Deschamps. The Frenchman previously coached Juventus during their spell in Serie B following relegation in the 2006/2007 season, and he did an excellent job during that period.

Deschamps also recently ended a highly successful spell as France manager, during which he won the World Cup in 2018. Juventus view him as one of the coaches capable of transforming the team if they offer him the managerial role.

For Juventus, the decision will depend on whether Spalletti can stabilise results and restore confidence. If he cannot, Deschamps’ experience, winning record and previous connection with the club make him a serious candidate to lead Juventus into a new era.
