Luciano Spalletti is considering another change of formation at Juventus as the club struggles to secure positive results. After their shock home defeat to Lazio, he switched to a 3-5-2 system, but the loss to Genoa in midweek has raised questions about whether that approach is working.
The 3-5-2 formation appeared to offer stability, allowing Spalletti to use two strikers and three centre backs at the same time. However, results have not improved, and the defeat to Genoa has prompted the manager to reconsider the system and how best to use his players.
Spalletti weighs options
Before reverting to the 3-5-2 formation, Spalletti spoke with his players in an effort to identify the best solution for each position. With Juventus now in a training retreat ahead of Napoli’s visit, he faces a similar task as he looks to find a formula that can deliver better results.
According to Tuttojuve, Juventus could return to a 4-3-3 system this weekend. The potential change would allow Spalletti to start Jeremie Boga and Edon Zhegrova on the wings, giving the team a different attacking structure against Napoli.
Boga is regarded as a strong left winger, and his inclusion would give Juventus width and pace in attacking areas. However, Zhegrova has struggled when starting matches, despite performing better when introduced as a second-half substitute.

A key decision
It remains to be seen whether Spalletti will trust Zhegrova from the start in a 4-3-3 system. His past performances suggest that he may be more effective when coming on later in matches, which could influence the manager’s final decision.
Juventus need to find a system that brings out the best in their players and produces results. The potential return to 4-3-3 would represent another attempt by Spalletti to address the team’s difficulties and improve their attacking output.
With Napoli next up, Spalletti must decide whether to persist with the 3-5-2 or make another change. The outcome of that decision could be important, as Juventus look to respond to recent setbacks and get their season back on track
